![]() Embarrassment and shame kept us silent for many years, but once we opened up with each other and acknowledged the sin, we prayed and asked God to help us eliminate it. It crippled us as individuals and hindered our marriage from growing deeper. My husband and I had sin that was brought into our marriage. ![]() He also desire for you to have a healthy and righteous marriage. God loves you very much and desires you to be with Him in eternity. Romans 6:23 states “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The free gift of living in freedom, close to God and set apart from sin, comes through grace. But if you hide from Him and reject Him then eventually your sin will destroy you and your marriage. When you spend time with God he will reveal it to you and help you through the healing process. Some people struggle to see what sins they have in their life, if you struggle with this you need to open up the bible and start reading. It is imperative for us to drag our sin into the light, so that God can set us free from it. For this reason it says, “ Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.” But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. “Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. Sin keeps them entangled in bondage, while shame and guilt keep them right there in the heat of it. I wanted to share it with you and pose a question… Are you and your husband hiding from God because of sin? When I was reading this chapter the other day, verse 8 stuck out to me.
